Airplanes and Airports

Part of preparing for almost 4 weeks in Asia is the need to become a student of airports and alternative methods of transportation (trains, subways, ferries and cabs). I will be traveling from Bangor to Beijing and then to Hangzhou and then by train to Ningbo and Wenzhou and then by train back to Hangzhou and then by air to Guangzhou and then my train to Shenzhen and then by air to Shanghai and then by air to Seoul, South Korea. Lastly, from Seoul to Bangor.

Fortunately I have former international students who know the best flights - and the cheapest and can make their way around the subway and train stations blind folded. Given my time in the air at times be 12-14 hours in length and a traveling day -from Bangor to Beijing will be 23 hours in length, I plan on taking lots of Tylenol PM.

So my route from Dover Foxcroft ME to the home of Yuxuan Wang in Beijing?
- Depart from the Academy at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday June 16th!
- Fly from Bangor International Airport (12:30 departure) to Detroit
- Arrive in Detroit at 2:58 and then depart at 3:35 for Seattle WA
- Arrive in Seattle WA at 5:34 PM
- Depart from Seattle to Beijing at 9:05 P.M. (6/16) and Arrive in Beijing on 6/17 at 11:40 P.M.
- Yuxuan Wang and family will pick me and transport me to their home about an hour away
- Hit the pillow at 1:00 A.M.

My first meeting will be the following morning at 9:00 A.M. - and another adventure begins!
